Is it possible to lose my flabby tummy?

January 16, 2012 - 2:03 am 9 Comments

No i am not pregnant. Im a 20 yr old who goes to college and ive been eating to stay awake for exams. My legs and arms are fine but its just my tummy that fat. I don’t care about losing weight i just care about getting a flat stomach.
Is it possible to lose my ugly belly without running? I have a heart problem n i get tired very very easily. How easily? Let’s just say that when i was in high school, i didn’t have to do the 4 laps on the field for PE class.(slip from the doctor. Ya lucky)
Lately ive been doing crunches on the floor and the big ball for 25min-45 min, 2 times a day n using my brothers weights( not much). My brother said it wont work unless i run but i don’t believe that bcuz baq in 2007 i worked out for 2 months n got a flat tummy( not very flat but enough to know i have lost the extra fat). I want to believe in myself but idk anymore..
Will that work to get my tummy flat by not running?

i want it to be flat by around April 21 cuz that’s my birthday(21 yaya)

crunches and sit ups are the best. Do them until it hurts and then do a few more. If it hurts you are getting the exercise you need, if it doesn’t hurt then you are only maintaining what you have. Hopefully you don’t get tired and quit. If you get tired, then rest and continue as soon as possible. Try to workout at least 30 minutes continuously and for an hour a day.

Anything is possible. Just due crunches, sit ups, and run. As long as you believe that you can than you`ll do it. Get into it. Work. Show people that your not lazy and get out there!

i know im 5’11 180lbs, most basketball players have that height weight ratio, but unfortnately i have a lot less muscle and tons of fat on the tummy. jee.

i guess if you do a lot of exercise, you might be able to turn fat into muscle? fantasy it might just be, or i hope it works.

I am curently on a diet my self and i lost 22 lbs since Jan 20 until today March 10.

I cut out all the bad things out of my diet that i felt are holding me back:

    -bread
    -pasta
    -rise
    -pop
-juice ( too much sugar in store brand) make ur own freshly squeezed
    at home

    **** i stopped eating after 8 pm
    **** eat 3 main meals
**** snack inbetween ( fruits, yougurt, powerbar)
****drink alot of freshly squeezed lemon juice with warm water

it might sound like alot of work but its really not

fisrt couple days are a lil hard but your body adjusts to it in no time

keep doing what you doing and watch what you eat cus think abt it this way. you put 400 calories in your body and only burn 200. What happens to the rest. yep think about it. good luck u can do it, but dont starve yourself.

Drink a lot of water and get into a daily exercise habit. Crunches are great. (you can find some great ones free online) Cut out sweets entirely for a while. Ab exercises should do the trick. Eat well and stick to a routine and you should have a great tummy in no time.
You do not need to run to lose it. You can take it slow, you don’t have to exercise like a maniac to make this work. Go slow and watch that heart rate.
Good luck and Happy soon to be 21st!

You can get a flatter tummy without running, but you still have to at least walk or get on an elliptical machine. The sad fact is that you cannot spot-reduce fat (meaning you can’t just focus on your belly and lose fat there). In order to lose your tummy you have to lose fat all over. So, yes, you have to do cardio and eat better to reduce your overall fat and then you will notice a flatter tummy.

Another note: most women gain weight in their bottom/thighs but there are others who collect weight around their middle first. If you are one of those, that will make a difference in your ability to get a flatter tummy as well.

I asked the same question to a trainer when I was in college.

I know you’re busy but this worked for me without doing anything else and without dieting:

Walk 2 miles 3 times a week. That’s it. I did it and it worked me a perfect figure in no time.

Not everyone has time to do this.
