The amount of weight you want to lose and the time within which you would like to lose it should be decided beforehand. That is a terrible habit and it just makes you obese. Carry a small notebook with you and write down every snack, every drink, and the contents of every meal. There are also great websites that you can use to keep track of calories, get recipes, and help achieve your goal. It’s best to do this for at least a couple weekdays and a weekend; it’s even better if you can go a full week. Look up the calorie count on the internet for foods that don’t have calories listed on the container or for fast food meals. There is an idea that multiplying your ideal weight by ten will produce a rough estimate of the number of calories you need to eat per day to maintain your weight. Everyone has different metabolisms and there is no blanket rule that covers everyone’s recommended calorie intake. Go over the list and decide which foods to cut out or reduce. Look at the nutritional information for the foods you eat, pay special attention to your intake of saturated fats and empty calorie, high-sugar foods. You can simply reduce the amount of soda you drink or mayonnaise you put on your sandwiches, or you can substitute healthier choices. Low-fat and low-calorie options are also available for most foods, and many of these are natural, although some may contain chemicals , and tasty. Many people get a ton of calories from side dishes such as macaroni and cheese, French fries, or potato salad. You can eat healthier and lose weight by replacing these with fresh vegetables and salads. Pre-made salads are practically effortless, and when accompanied by a reduced-calorie dressing or no dressing at all, they’re weight-loss gold. A fattening breakfast of bacon and eggs or a pastry can be replaced with yogurt , oatmeal , high-fiber, low-sugar cereals; or fresh fruit for fruit smoothies. However, for those on a low carbohydrate diet bacon and eggs are a great combo for breakfast, since neither have carbs. But don’t fall into the trap of skipping breakfast.

crunches only work out ur ab muscles not burn ft

to get rid of tummy fat u need to do cardio training such sa running

well, first im Miguel a 13 year old teenager.(sorry for some wrong grammar and spelling) i have this kind of body where my arms where thin, my face looks thin, i look thin when i wore clothes, but every time i look in the mirror i would see my tummy , a very big tummy…. so i had this problem. my tummy looks bloated all the time. i always ask myself "Why do i look thin but i have a very big tummy?" i joined a dance competition in our school and its theme is "tribal" our costume was said to show our stomachs, so how can i get my tummy small and flat in weeks or shorter.(i would accept longer methods but not longer than 3 weeks). im a student. a first year student. i dont have time to go to some Gym because i am studying. what are some methods that would make my tummy flat in a short time without going to Gym and doing so much aerobics? thx.

You are your worst critic, you notice more things than anybody else. If you want to tone your core, look into ab exercises on youtube.

Endless crunches and starvation diets are not the answer to getting a flat stomach. Having trimmed, toned abs is a goal of many teenage girls and it is achievable through good nutrition and the right kind of exercise. Although you can’t lose weight in just one part of your body, a healthful lifestyle will help you shed excess pounds, tone muscles and enjoy a flatter strong stomach.

Nutrition
Eating regularly keeps your metabolism revved and gives your body the nutrients to build healthy, toned muscle. Strive for three meals each day and several healthful snacks. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Guide Pyramid recommends lean protein from meat, fish, chicken and low-fat or fat free dairy. Add to each meal a serving or two of fresh fruit or vegetables and whole grains, such as whole grain bread or brown rice. Teenage girls require about 2,200 calories daily to support growth and proper physiological functioning.

Foods to Avoid
Sugar and saturated fat add calories with no nutritional value. Limit soda, candy, sugary desserts, fast food and fried food as much as possible. Avoiding unnecessary calories will help you shed excess belly fat more quickly.
Ab Exercises

Traditional crunches work the ab muscles that run along the front of the torso, commonly referred to as the six pack. Exercise routines that incorporate Pilates or yoga and exercises performed on an exercise ball help firm the muscles in the lower part of the abdomen, along the sides of the waist and the lower back muscles. All these muscles work together to create a flatter stomach. They also give you better balance and lessen your risk of back injury, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Cardio Exercise

A healthful diet will keep your caloric intake at the proper level. To burn stored fat, you have to get active. Susan Bartell, author of “Dr. Susan’s Girls-Only Weight Loss Guide,” says any activity you enjoy and can perform at moderate to high intensity counts, including dancing, skating, running, swimming or participating in an aerobics class. Walk as much as possible or ride your bike for transportation. Be as active as you can, most days of the week.

Strength Training
Don’t believe the myth that you will get bulky muscles. Women have different hormones than men, which limits the amount of muscle growth you can achieve. Strength training builds healthy, toned muscle that gives you more energy, improves your body’s appearance and raises your metabolism. Strong muscles burn more calories, too, even when you sleep. Use weight machines at your local gym or hand weights at home, incorporating exercises for each muscle group. Allow a day of rest between workouts. Muscles develop while you are at rest, not during workouts.

Stay Away from Fads
Don’t fall for diets that promise exaggerated results and workouts that claim to sculpt a perfect body overnight. They are often unhealthy, according to the Mayo Clinic, and any results you gain will disappear when you stop using the program. The most successful route to a flat stomach for the rest of your life is to adopt healthful habits.

how can i lose 10 pounds in a week and get a flat tummy? I am 13 and 4ft 11in, and I weigh about 115 pounds.?

Hi im trying to lose about 10-15 ponds in a week ina half. Im 13 im 4ft 11in, and i weigh about 115 pounds. Not only did the doctor say i should lose some weight, but I have a huge party in a week and I look pregnant in my dress. (im not exaggerating, my grandma actually though i was.) So i need a Little help on how to lose the pounds and get a flat tummy. I am moderately active (i get about3-4 hours exercises a week) but my calorie intake is huge!!! please help

To lose 10 pounds you would have to burn off 35,000 more calories than you intake. So if you had 1500 calories a day*7 = 10500 you would have to burn at least at least 45,000 calories. An average run, 6-8 miles/hour, would burn 800 calories, so unless your going to do some serious exercise for 4 hours a day, you will not lose 10 pounds. Just cut down on your calorie intake and your pounds will come off, your only 13, you’ll grow and naturally lose the weight. Oh, and don’t worry about your dress, your only 13, no ones going to think you’re pregnant.

How can I get really slim thighs and flat tummy in a few weeks?

I’m 13 years old and I’m athletic, currently on my school’s basketball team. Since i live in cali it’s almost time to wear shorts again and i’m pretty flabby, i don’t know why. my thighs are horribly white so that makes them look bigger, but my outer side of my leg is perfect and toned but the inside is gross! my stomache is also like this, my oblique’s are solid and i know i probably have abs under a bag of groceries if ya know wwhat i’m sayin!

how can i totally get rid of all this fat and make it really toned an pretty? also a name of a really good self tanner lotion and razor so i can make my legs look really good?
i do eat healthy i want to know about excersices not diet!

Eat less.
Also, make your largest meal of the day breakfast or lunch…BUT NOT DINNER. Most people make dinner their biggest meal…but dinner time is close to bed time..and when you are in bed, you are not burning those calories as much because you are inactive. Try having cereal for dinner for awhile.
